For the first week of animation we were given the task of presenting something to do with the history of animation or the key methods behind it. This was a group presentation and myself and my group decided to choose CGI animation.
This meant that we got a good look into the use of CGI, who uses it and when and where its popular. It came out as a real current thing as even though it dated back to the hugely popular 'Toy Story' it hadn't lost any appeal to the viewers.
We researched who used CGI and the clear front-runners were Pixar and Dreamworks - however this didn't mean that only they could use it properly. We found an entire set of other uses for CGI animation such as road accident demonstrations and court room re-enactments.
After delivering our presentation other groups took to presenting and we got to learn about other parts of animations history.
